Objectives

  1. To enhance the awareness of sexual health among the gay community;
  2. To provide information and knowledge about sexual health for gay men; and
  3. To encourage and facilitate gay men to adopt safer sex practice to prevent HIV infection.

Content

1.  Man-d Testing (Result in 15 minutes)

2. Hotline: 909 303 35 (Starting on 12/6/09)
 Hotline provides a safe and anonymous situation for gay men to talk about their worries and concerns on an individual basis. The hotline service is available in Cantonese, Mandarin and English from Monday to Friday between 2:00pm – 5:30pm and Tuesday to Thursday between 6:30 – 9:30pm.

3.  Internet Forum
An internet-based bulletin board and gay-related websites provide and a convenient platform for gay men to share their experiences and concerns about sexual health. Please visit our www.man-d.net for more information.

4.   Sexual Health Workshop
Workshops on sexual health will be held regularly with topics tailored to the needs and interests of gay men. Through interactive activities and talks, messages on sexual health are put across to the participants.

5. Social Support Group
Social support groups will be organized regularly to facilitate participants to explore and discuss issues such as sexuality, self-esteem, self-acceptance, and the underlying reasons of engaging in unsafe sex and safer sex negotiation skills.

6. Outreaching Service
Peer educators will promote sexual health weekly at different gay venues such as gay bars or gay karako.

7.  Educational and Promotional Materials
Different types of educational and promotional materials will be distributed to promote sexual health and HIV/AIDS knowledge for gay men.

8.  Peer Educators Training
A series of professional and systematic training programs will be organised for peer educators before they start to promote sexual health among the gay community.
